Richard Kilty (Born In Middlesbrough, 2 September 1989) is a Great Britain International 100m & 200m sprinter, who is currently coached by 1992 Olympic 100m champion Linford Christie.
Nick Named "The Teesside Tornado" He is currently one of Great Britains Top 100m & 200m sprinters, and was ranked number 1 in Great Britain over 200m in the u23 age group in 2011, with a time of 20.53 seconds. Richard was part of the 2011 Great Britain Relay Team who won Silver at the European U23 championships in Ostrava, Czech Republic, Which included team mates, Andrew Robertson, Kieron Showler-Davis & Danny Talbot.
He currently is one of Great Britains Top sprint prospects for the London 2012 Olympic Games where he is most likely to contest the 200m, which is his favoured event. His personal best time of 20.53 seconds has secured the A standard for selection of the Olympic Games in August. For the Majority of 2011 He was without a coach and not funded which made his season very tough but still managed to smash his personal bests in both the 100m & 200m. Now coached By Christie, Kilty believes he is due for mass improvement going into the 2012 Season where he believes he can become Great Britains top 200m sprinter and make the team for the 2012 Games.
Richard won the 60m at the First ever "Athletics Ashes" England Vs Australia Great North City Games, Where he Won in a time of 6.67 seconds.
Richard Also Holds numerous National Sprint Titles Including; UK junior 100m Champion & Double English schools national 100m champion & Is the fastest Man in North East History over 60m, 100m & 200m.
